ORing’s Slim Type Industrial Ethernet Switch Series Shrink the Footprint of Your Industrial Network Infrastructure
Sindian, Taiwan, March 28, 2010 --(PR.com)-- “Simple is the Best, Less is More, Slim yet Sturdy”, these are the key design concepts of ORing’s (ORing Industrial Networking Corp.) slim type industrial Ethernet switch products. For an industrial or manufacturing environment, space-saving and compact devices enable the system integrator to enjoy great flexibilities in planning the system.
IES-2042PA and IES-2050A are the latest models of ORing’s slim type Industrial Ethernet switch products. IES-2042PA is an industrial 6-port slim type lite-managed Ethernet switch with 4x10/100Base-T(X) and 2x100Base-FX, SFP socket while IES-2050A is an industrial 5-port slim type lite-managed Ethernet switch with 5x10/100Base-T(X). Both devices are characterized by their slim features, with only 26.1mm thickness. Jackson Tai, Project Manager at Product Planning Department of ORing indicates that slim feature of the devices enables compact installation, hence can effectively shrunk the footprint of the entire network infrastructure.
Equipped with rigid IP-30 housing design, the devices are slim yet sturdy and features at wide operation temperature (-40 to 70°C), thus can operate smoothly under various harsh environment. In addition, both devices support Ethernet redundancy protocol O-Ring, O-Ring is ORing’s proprietary redundant ring technology, which enables less than 10ms recovery time over 250 units of connection, hence it can protect your mission-critical applications from network interruptions or temporary malfunctions with its fast recovery time. Moreover, the devices also support Open-Ring technology. Open-Ring is an enhanced redundancy technology that makes ORing’s switches compatible with any proprietary redundant ring technologies from other vendors, and failed switches can be replaced by ORing switches with fast recovery time.
As for more advanced feature, IES-2042PA and IES-2050A support Ethernet multi-redundancy, which can greatly enhance the reliability and security of the network system. Moreover, the devices also support port-based VLAN, LLDP protocol, web-based interface Windows utility (Open-Vision) configuration, event notification through syslog, email, SNMP trap, relay; and also provide web / Windows utility DIP-switch function to set ring function.
According to Tai, IES-2042 PA is very flexible for system integrator since it equipped with two SFP ports. SFP is the short form of Small Form-factor Pluggable, an ideal I/O solution for data communication applications, it interfaces a network device motherboard (for a switch, router, media converter or similar device) to a fiber optic or copper networking cable. It is a popular industry format supported by numerous industrial networking device manufacturers, to a certain extent, SFP solution also enhances the flexibility in constructing an Ethernet ring.
As for IES-2050A, it can be used in connecting several Ethernet devices like Ethernet I/O, IP-Camera or other Ethernet switches. Since it equipped with light management feature, it is a cost-effective industrial networking solution for automation or manufacturing process on the plant floor.
