Lennar Partners with SCAD on Latest Video Contest
Homebuilder Awarding One Lucky SCAD Student a $10,000 Cash Prize
Charlotte, NC, March 31, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Lennar, one of the nation’s largest homebuilders, is teaming up with the Savannah College of Art and Design for its latest video contest.
The homebuilder is giving SCAD film students an opportunity that could change their fortune, offer fame and provide lots of cash.
The assignment given to SCAD film students is simple: Submit a 30-second video telling the homebuilder “why it’s cool to own your own Lennar home.” There are no creative restrictions. The field is wide open for artistic expression.
The winning student receives a cash prize of $10,000 and $5,000 will also be donated to the SCAD university. The winning video entry will be put on an array of social media sites, including YouTube and could possibly run as an upcoming Lennar television commercial.
“We thought this would be a creative way to find out what is on the minds of this younger demographic when it comes to owning a home versus conducting traditional research,” said Andrea Berenfeld, Regional Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Lennar’s Southeast Region. “It’s an opportunity for us to blur the lines between the homebuilding industry and art. It also allows us to give back to this important artistic community.”
The call for entries from SCAD film students is from March 29 to May 17. The winner will be revealed on May 27, 2010.
Lennar plans to partner on similar contests with additional schools around the country in the next few months.
