Jason E. Havens Rated "AV" by Martindale-Hubbell and Will Chair Two American Bar Association Programs in Philadelphia This Spring
Destin, FL, March 31, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Havens & Miller, P.L.L.C., with law offices in Destin, Nashville, and New Orleans, announced today that Jason E. Havens thankfully received an "AV" ("Preeminent") rating from Martindale-Hubbell (http://www.lawyers.com), which has rated lawyers and law firms since 1868 and is considered to be the premier lawyer ratings organization in the United States. Mr. Havens is the only lawyer between Pensacola and Panama City who is both board-certified in Wills, Trusts, and Estates Law by The Florida Bar and "AV" rated.
Mr. Havens is also one of the highest rated lawyers by Avvo (http://www.avvo.com), a newer ratings organization that includes consideration of client reviews with Avvo's and peer reviews. Mr. Havens is among the top one percent of Avvo-rated lawyers across the country who list "Estate Planning" as their primary practice area. Mr. Havens is one of only thirty Florida "Estate Planning" lawyers rated as "Superb" (10.0 out of 10.0) by Avvo.
The firm also announced that Mr. Havens will chair two programs in Philadelphia in early May 2010 as part of the twenty-first annual symposium of the American Bar Association's Section of Real Property, Trust, and Estate Law. Mr. Havens, who has served as Co-Chair of the Charitable Planning Committee of that section since 2007, will chair the following programs that feature well-known speakers from top law firms, charitable organizations, and the Treasury Department: "Charities in Transition: The Updated Status of Private Foundations, Supporting Organizations and Charitable Planning" and "Gifts Gone Wild: What to Do When Donors and Charities Don't See Eye to Eye." The former program will include a discussion of Mr. Havens' article, "Firming Up Your Foundations: Creation of Lifetime Foundations to Avoid Postmortem Problems," which was published in the November/December 2009 issue of Family Foundation Advisor.
