AudioConexus Launches New Audio Tours at Dole Plantation’s Botanical Gardens
AudioConexus launches new audio tours for visitors to the newly revitalized Dole Plantation Gardens in Hawaii in English, Japanese and Korean.
Oahu, HI, March 31, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Dole Plantation, one of O‘ahu's most popular visitor attractions, today announced the launch of audio tours in its Plantation Gardens, in English, Japanese and Korean.
Visitors to the newly revitalized Plantation Gardens will be able to view an amazing diversity of plants while listening to stories about the garden as well as Hawaiian heritage. Visitors will learn which plants were sacred, how plants were cooked, and how native Hawaiians used these plants for everything they needed, from medicine to canoes to chewing gum. And of course, visitors will hear the history of the Dole Plantation and their main crop, pineapple, while overlooking the plantation that continues to grow the incredibly delicious pineapple.
The Audio Guides being used for the self-guided walking tour at the Dole Plantation Garden, give visitors an opportunity to learn about horticulture and the significance of James Dole, who started his Hawaiian Pineapple Company on twelve acres of land in 1901. Using wireless tour guide technology, Dole Plantation provides all of their visitors with enriched audio tours.
“By providing wireless audio tours, we’ve now been able to better reach out to our visitors, sharing stories about the rich heritage of Hawaii.” said Michael Moon, General Manager of the Dole Plantation. “We’re excited about being able to share these captivating and entertaining stories, while meeting our educational goals for interpretation in our gardens. AudioConexus exceeded our expectations by creating audio tours that strike a perfect balance ... maintaining the calm, serenity in our gardens while providing the high quality edutainment visitors seek.”
“We are delighted to work with the Dole Plantation and in its beautiful and historic gardens,” said Jonathan Stanley, President & CEO, AudioConexus Inc. “We worked closely with the Dole Plantation to achieve their vision of ka poʻe kahiko, the belief that people and nature are one. This garden tour is a delicate experience where a closer connection to nature is provided through a fun, entertaining audio tour experience, while being sensitive to the serenity that the garden offers. Doles desire to share their vision with their visitors helped guide us in creating the best possible experience – and we’re excited to be a part of this new and enhanced offering for both domestic and foreign language visitors.”
