SSI Interface Module Expands 1762 MicroLogix I/O Functionality
AMCI's 7160 Series SSI Interface modules are the only SSI modules available for 1762 MicroLogix I/O. With easy setup and installation, and compatibility with a variety of sensors and applications, the modules are an efficient complement for the low cost MicroLogix 1100, 1200, and 1400 controllers.
Terryville, CT, April 01, 2010 --(PR.com)-- AMCI has developed 1 and 2 channel SSI expansion modules for Allen-Bradley 1762 MicroLogix™ I/O. The AMCI 7160 Series SSI modules enable customers to expand the flexibility of MicroLogix 1100, 1200, and 1400 controllers by adding the ability to monitor rotary and linear applications. This low cost, compact, yet powerful solution is designed to fit well within your budget. Using Rockwell Automation Enabled™ technologies ensures that the 7160 series modules are 100% compatible with the Allen-Bradley 1762 MicroLogix I/O.
Setup and installation is easy.
RSLogix 500 programming software is all you need to get started. The controller and 7160 SSI modules can be mounted either on a panel or on a DIN-rail, with the modules installed to the right of the controller. The AMCI 7161 and 7162 SSI modules provide up to 32 bit resolution, with selectable data format of either binary or gray code. The resolution is limited only by the resolution of the SSI sensor, and provides the user with scaled data, actual SSI data, or velocity data. Features include position preset, count direction, position scaling, and a latch input (7161 only). Fault diagnostics are also incorporated into the modules to constantly monitor system integrity and report any errors to the PLC.
Both the 7161 and 7162 modules are compatible with SSI transducers from leading manufacturers such as AMCI, Balluff, MTS, SICK, and Stegmann. The 7160 series SSI modules are capable of working in a wide range of applications and are compatible with the following SSI distance measurement sensor types:
· Encoders
· Linear scales
· Bar code readers
· Non-contact laser systems
· and more
Customers interested in the 7160 series SSI Interface modules are encouraged to speak with an AMCI representative who can walk them through the specifying process. More information can be found either by visiting the AMCI website (www.amci.com), or by calling a sales representative at (860) 585-1254 during regular business hours.
