Dover, NJ, April 01, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Cover art for a CD distributed by the Boston-based National Center for Medical Legal Partnership features work created by Internationally-exhibited artist David Derr of D2 Studios. The MLP is a consortium of medical and legal professionals that promotes the advancement of medical-legal partnerships to improve the health and well-being of vulnerable populations by transforming health and legal systems.
Derr’s work employs a representation of a stethoscope under the group’s existing logo to highlight outreach to risk patients and to tie it into MLP’s website. The artist employs a clean and spare look that is evocative of a doctor’s office and conveys the idea that the members of MLP are striving to assist people that are struggling just to stay alive.
The CD “Medical-Legal Partnerships: Impacting Patients, Transforming Medicine” contains presentations by physicians from across the U.S. talking about how MLP positively impacts their patients and clinical practices. The CD is meant as a supplement to MLP training and education initiatives.
Medical-legal partnerships facilitate the participation of lawyers in a health setting to help patients understand and successfully navigate the complexities of government and community systems. These efforts may include income supports for food insecure families, utility shut-off protection during cold winter months, and mold removal from the home of asthmatics.
Derr has won numerous awards including: the Adobe Digital Imaging Competition, Int'l. Digital Mural Competition and NY Art Director's Club. His works have been featured in Gallery and Studio Magazine, Photoshop User, and Digital Fine Arts Magazine as well as numerous online exhibitions and websites. He studied at The Art Students League in New York City.
