Los Angeles, CA, August 05, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Lee Trevino once remarked that "Golf mats have ruined the game of golf." Golfers from his generation grew learning to play the game on grass. In recognition of this there has been an effort to improve the standard golf mat.

All of the innovations that have reached the market in recent years approach solving the problem of static golf mats in the same basic way, according to FairwayPro founder Jim McFarlin. "These products cushion the surface or provide a means to deflect the hard surface, always downward. These products do reduce club head bounce but fail to replicate the feel of taking a divot."

McFarlin explains "FairwayPro has taken an entirely different approach by providing a product that incorporates a spring-loaded turf tray that reacts, and gives way, sliding forward just like natural turf does when impacted by a golf club."

McFarlin says this approach allows the golfer to strike the ball in the correct down-and-through angle of attack and the golfer experiences the true feeling of carving out a divot as the turf slides forward. McFarlin contends this is exactly what happens when hitting off the fairway.

The company initially released a portable version of the concept in July 2009 allowing golfers to actually take the product to the practice range and set it alongside the standard range mat. McFarlin points out that this portable version is also great for home use with the addition of a hitting net.

McFarlin said the manager of David Leadbetter Golf Academy, world’s number one rated golf training academy, said after testing FairwayPro "The intrinsic strength of the product lies in its originality. I see a great deal of potential and agree it is a verifiable practice aid of high quality."

After exhibiting FairwayPro at several trade shows including the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, Florida, the company received numerous requests from golf course, practice range and golf teaching facility owners to develop a full-size commercial version of FairwayPro for permanent installation at their facilities.

"Our goal is to introduce long awaited commercial (installed) version of FairwayPro in time for the 2011 golf season," says McFarlin.

The company is currently seeking private investors who share the FairwayPro vision to help enable this product release.

"Over 50% of the money needed has already been raised during the phase 1 money raise. Phase 2 is now being introduced," according to McFarlin
