Scarlet Girl celebrates the one year anniversary of their successful toy recycling program this month, but the Green Business Certification is a new achievement for the company. Becoming a Certified Green Business illustrates a commitment to being a good citizen of the community, and to being proactive in establishing environmentally friendly business practices.
There is no firm data on the number of adult sex toys that end up in landfills each year, mainly because the subject is still one that not everyone is comfortable discussing. But the fact remains that when these items, made up of plastics, metal, and electronics, end up in the trash they stay there for a long time.

In addition to their recycling program, Scarlet Girl is now a Green Business. To become Green Certified, a business agrees to adopt a voluntary set of guidelines designed to increase efficiency, and reduce waste and energy use in day-to-day business practices. These guidelines range from shutting down computers at the end of the day, to recycling used office supplies, to putting office lights on timers.
