Clinic Expansion Rides on Success of 2010 Tuxedo Cat Ball
Raleigh, NC, April 04, 2010 --(PR.com)-- SAFE Haven for Cats has announced plans to double the capacity of its SAFE Care Low-Cost Feline Spay and Neuter Clinic, to be completed during the second half of 2010. A second surgery suite, equipment and staff will be funded by the proceeds of SAFE Haven’s largest 2010 fundraiser – the Tuxedo Cat Ball.
Tickets are on sale for the Sixth Annual Tuxedo Cat Ball which takes place on Friday, April 16 from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at Marbles Kids Museum in Downtown Raleigh. Models for Charity of Raleigh will support the event, assisting SAFE Haven with many of the evening’s activities. The theme of the evening is “Sweet Sixteen”, celebrating SAFE Haven’s sixteenth year, and will feature an elegant reception, and silent & live auctions of over 150 items including original works of art, jewelry, trips, gift certificates and many unusual cat-themed items. Musical entertainment will be provided by The Swingin’ Chads. Tickets are $75 per person or $150 per couple and are available at http://www.safehavenforcats.org/tcb or by calling (919) 872-1128. A complete listing of auction items may be viewed at http://www.safehavenforcats.org/tcb.
With over 1,700 sterilizations performed in its clinic in 2009, SAFE Haven hopes to increase that number to 3,000 annually. “By offering low-cost spaying, neutering and vaccinations at only $75 per cat, the demand has far exceeded our current capability. To continue offering these services to pet owners and feral cat caretakers in the Triangle area, expansion is critical,” said Pam Miller, Executive Director. The first phase of this expansion will begin in May with a $50,000 purchase of a surgery table, lighting, anesthesia machine and other miscellaneous equipment and supplies.
