April 1st, 2010 marks the release of Double E Promotion’s newest radio compilation disk #153. "Despite, previous Double E comp singles reaching the coveted number one spot on several national charts, this comp is sure to be one of the best and most played with a class of award winning artist’s like the Waymasters, Allen Frizzell, Rene’ Jones and Sandra Dee" - Perry Edge. Although the Waymasters and Rene’ Jones are new to the Double E roster, they are definitely not new to great gospel music. For this comp you will find “I Know a Man” by the Waymasters and “Like ‘Ole Hank” by Rene’ Jones as their first Double E singles released to radio.
After releasing six albums and touring nationally for years the Waymasters have been widely regarded as making major influential contributions to the “Smokey Mountain Gospel” sound which would later be made most famous in the “Oh Brother, Where Art Thou” movie. Moreover, amassing concert video views in the 100,000’s on YouTube, and winning the 2009 USAGEM Acoustic Gospel Crown Jewel Award.
Since 2003, Rene’ Jones, “The Christian Cowboy”, has been touring with his brand of gospel music. Rene’s first Christian Country single was released to radio in March, 2005 by GodsChild Records. Since then, Rene’ has had several songs chart in the Top 10 of the Christian Country and Country Gospel charts. His single “Rockin’ on the Front Porch” reached #1 in January, of 2009. Later the same year, Rene’ was bestowed the honor of receiving the prestigious USAGEM Christian Country Crown Jewel Award.
Comp #153 will also showcase a live version of “Until Then” by legendary Frizzell family member, Allen Frizzell, a never before released Hank Williams Sr. gospel tune, “Heartbroken, Forsaken and Alone” by rising artist, Jennifer Brantley, “Lost And Found” by ICM Female Vocalist of The Year, Sandra Dee, “Garden of Love” by Johnny Jones and “He Kept On Loving Me” by The Downs Family.
