Dr. Marilyn Pelias Joins Tulane Surgery Facility
Dr. Pelias recently joined the Tulane Surgery Faculty as a full time general surgeon at Lakeside Hospital.
Metairie, LA, April 09, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Marilyn Pelias graduated with honors from Tulane University in 1984, where she was a proud member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority.
She then graduated from Tulane Medical School in 1988, and completed her General Surgery Residency and Research Fellowship at Case Western Reserve University and the Ohio State University. Dr. Pelias entered solo private practice in 1994 concentrating on all aspects of General Surgery including Vascular Surgery. The practice was so successful that over the next 8 years she added 3 partners and built a surgery center.
In 2002 Dr. Pelias returned to her home in New Orleans. Aside from missing New Orleans and her friends, her parents were elderly and her mother was very ill. She started a private practice in General and Cosmetic Surgery. After the storm, she took a few years off to take care of her four young children, renovate her home, and concentrate on her family business concerns.
Dr. Pelias recently joined the Tulane Surgery Faculty as a full time general surgeon at Lakeside Hospital. Her interests include a wide variety of women’s surgical issues including breast surgery, G.I. surgery, vascular surgery, varicose & spider vein surgery, hernia repair, colonoscopy screening and many other areas.
