Author Susan Mallery Launches Fool’s Gold Website
San Francisco, CA, April 09, 2010 --(PR.com)-- New York Times bestselling author Susan Mallery has launched a fun, interactive website for her new series of Fool’s Gold romances: www.foolsgoldca.com. Fool’s Gold, California is the fictional setting of Mallery’s upcoming series of romance novels. The series will launch on April 27 with the release of Chasing Perfect.
A charming tourist town in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, Fool’s Gold is The Land of Happy Endings.
“The town of Fool’s Gold is suffering from a man shortage,” Mallery says, “and no one knows why. The website has some hints about that, including a history of Fool’s Gold going all the way back to before European explorers came to America.”
Mallery is known for writing fun, family-centered stories with a deep emotional core. With the new website, she hopes to help readers make a personal connection with Fool’s Gold and the people who live there. The website includes a Who’s Who page where fans can learn more about the characters of the books and see candid photos of those characters.
With the “Explore the Town” feature, readers will see a map of the town and ads from local businesses, many of which are featured in the books. The ads are filled with insider jokes about the man shortage. The News and Events page will be updated regularly with Fool’s Gold happenings, such as a story on the town’s annual April Fool’s Gold Day festivities. As with Mallery’s books, the updates promise to be both touching and laugh-out-loud funny.
The website features free downloads, such as a postcard fans can email to their friends. Knitters will love the pattern for a puppet they won’t find anywhere else – Nikki, the mascot of Fool’s Gold, which was designed to look like Mallery’s own dog. Home cooks will love the free Fool’s Gold Family Recipes cookbook, with 43 pages of recipes, including pictures.
The 2010 Fool’s Gold books are Chasing Perfect (May), Almost Perfect (July), and Finding Perfect (September). There will also be three as yet unnamed Fool’s Gold books released in 2011, and the series will likely continue after that.
