MaPS Credit Union Hosts Sixth Annual Free Community Shred Day April 17
MaPS Credit Union is hosting a free Shred Day to help protect the community from identity thieves. The public is welcome at the event, April 17, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
Salem, OR, April 10, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The public is invited to bring their outdated personal documents to the Sixth Annual Free Community Shred Day Saturday, April 17, at MaPS Credit Union’s administration building, 451 Division Street, N.E., from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The event is jointly sponsored by MaPS Credit Union, Iron Mountain and O’Brien Auto Group. Participants are asked to limit their shred material to two medium boxes each so more people can participate in this free event.

Iron Mountain will collect and shred all personal papers to safeguard their confidentiality. Their history and reputation as a trusted shredding service made them a natural partner for Shred Day, which is one of MaPS signature annual events.
MaPS Credit Union and O’Brien are offering their parking lots to host the event, which is expected to draw hundreds of attendees and thousands of pounds of unneeded personal papers.
In addition, Credit Union Wireless, a MaPS company, will accept donations of used cell phones. Credit Union Wireless partners with Chemeketa Community College to ensure that phones are recycled or reused.
