Seth Kahan Leads Diversity and Inclusion Workshop at World Bank
Innovative Leadership and Executive Strategy Consultant, Seth Kahan, will conduct an interactive Diversity and Inclusion workshop at the World Bank this month, challenging participants to approach change in a new way - working from the inside out rather than top-down or bottom-up.
Bethesda, MD, April 11, 2010 --(PR.com)-- World Bank’s commitment to diversity and inclusion (D&I) is in the spotlight as the institution mobilizes a host of events during this year’s monthly celebrations.
Seth Kahan’s workshop draws material from his upcoming book, Getting Change Right: How Leaders Transform Organizations from the Inside Out. It will be published in May by Jossey-Bass. In it Kahan challenges participants to approach change in a whole new way, working from the inside out rather than top-down or bottom-up.
Kahan says, “This requires that people work together to construct a common understanding of a new program, fuelling it with their insights and perspectives.
“The way to successful, authentic change is through engagement. The important thing is to connect to people, to listen as much as to share ideas, and to involve as many key people as possible in the realization of their goals.”
Seth Kahan, a former World Bank staff member, adds, “My expectation is that, by working together on Diversity & Inclusion issues, this community will become a powerful force for innovation and creativity. The immediate goal is to generate a common set of objectives—to produce a collective esprit de corps.”
Seth Kahan has been an independent consultant since 2002. His clients include CEOs and senior managers of Shell Oil, the World Bank, Peace Corps, NASA, Project Management Institute, American Public Transportation Association, and many others.
Kahan has been identified as a Thought-leader and Exemplar in Change Leadership by the Society for Advancement of Consulting®.
Seth authors the popular blog: Fast Company’s Leading Change (SethFast.com) and he writes for the Washington Post at SethPost.com. Kahan is an Associate of the Taos Institute. He received the designation Visionary by the Center for Association Leadership.
