Air Charter Guru Joins Haitian Relief Effort
Air Charter Guru company arranges the largest single shipment of tents transported to Haiti since the January 2010 earthquake.
Dallas, TX, April 13, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Last week the President of Air Charter Guru (http://www.aircharterguru.com), Jeff Alan took the call and then took up the cause of Haitian disaster relief.
An air transportation veteran, (and a former US Marine), Air Charter Guru president, Jeff Alan was contacted by a little known Washington-based non-profit relief organization, the RWH Foundation, asking Alan to transport over fifty tons of tents from Miami to Port Au Prince. More than happy to help Alan reports that “this tent shipment was the largest single shipment of tents transported to Haiti since the earthquake”.
When Alan learned the number of tents he was shipping weighed over 50 tons, he soon realized that this air charter was the largest single air shipment since WWII. According to Alan “People across the planet have united to demonstrate their support for Haiti. But not since the Berlin airlift has the world experienced such a massive outpouring of airborne assistance”. Alan was incredulous to lean that “Haitians are homeless and living outdoors. Anything people can do to help relieve their strain should be done”. Knowing how much help the Haitian people still require assistance, Alan was also pleased to provide his air charter services at cost
According to on-the-ground reports Alan learned that months after the January 2010 earthquake the people in Haiti are horribly suffering. According to Alan, “Tens of thousands of Haitians are sleeping on the ground in a flood basin under make-shift structures made with old bed sheets. And due to a very short news cycle people around the world don’t realize that Haiti is still a huge, huge problem. Children have been killed and homes and belongings have been washed away. The Haitians urgently need our help and I am gratified that Air Charter Guru was able to contribute, even if in a small way”.
