Bridgeton, NJ, April 13, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Downtown Bridgeton has another new business. The “FiberArts Café” opened its doors the first week in April on Commerce Street.

The “Café” is actually a yarn shop and is sharing space with Brenner’s Brew. Carol Moore, the Café owner, said this was the fulfillment of a dream. “The shop isn’t fully stocked yet, but I wanted to get started offering yarns, and thread and some of the tools necessary for people to create their own projects.” The shop will soon offer everything necessary for knitters, crocheters, scrapbookers, sewers. It already has yarns, threads, patterns, crochet hooks & knitting needles.

Bridgeton has a history of involvement with what was called the Needle trade. Years ago, the ValMode sewing factory was located at the current site of the new senior living center is on the banks of the Cohansey.

Groups are already meeting at the shop to crochet and knit together on Monday afternoons and Thursday evenings. Ms. Moore also plans on offering classes in crochet and knitting. “In these economic times, I believe more people will return to the cottage crafts and create their own Afghans, sweaters and baby clothes,” she said.

The FiberArts Café is located at 21 East Commerce and is open Monday through Saturday.
