Coughlan Companies to Volunteer in Community During National Volunteer Week
Mankato, MN, April 14, 2010 --(PR.com)-- From serving meals to the hungry to walking dogs at the humane society, employees of Mankato-based Coughlan Companies, Inc., are celebrating National Volunteer Week this week by participating in a variety of volunteer opportunities in the community.
Coughlan Companies, which includes Capstone and Mankato Kasota Stone, Inc., is offering its employees paid time off during the work day to volunteer with one of its partnering organizations in the Mankato and Twin Cities areas, including Blue Earth Nicollet County Humane Society, Vine Spring Cleanup, The Salvation Army, Neighborhood Thrift Store, and Cheerful Givers. Coughlan Companies worked with each organization to determine set times and days volunteers are needed. Employees will be donating more than 78 hours of volunteer time this week alone.
“We encourage our employees to get involved in their communities throughout the year, but during National Volunteer Week we really ramp up our efforts by communicating available volunteer opportunities and giving employees time off from work to volunteer. Celebrating National Volunteer Week is becoming an important annual tradition at our company,” said Lisa Hanson, Director of Human Resources at Coughlan Companies.
National Volunteer Week is a national initiative to honor the efforts of volunteers and bring awareness to the need for more community service. National Volunteer Week will be celebrated this year April 18-24.
