Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston Dedicates Habitat for Humanity of Durham House
Local Real Estate Company Presents House To Durham Family
Durham, NC, November 14, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Don Walston, president and CEO of Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston, has announced that the real estate company dedicated their Habitat for Humanity of Durham house at a ceremony on Nov. 4. Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston employees built the home during the summer, along with Durham Habitat for Humanity for Joyce Freeman, who has adopted one child and cared for 30 foster children over the last 16 years. Freeman contributed her required 250 hours of sweat equity into the construction more than a month before her deadline. The Children's Home Society dedicated a swing set for Joyce and her family at the ceremony
"I know everything that is behind these walls, and I enjoyed every minute of it," said Freeman. "Thank you to everyone who swung a hammer and turned a screw. Thank you to everyone who put the love of labor in their hearts to help me build this blessing."
"We are transforming neighborhoods one house at a time,” said Miguel Rubiera, executive director of Habitat for Humanity. “In 16 months, we have nearly completed 20 houses in Durham's West End community.”
“In honor of Coldwell Banker celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2006, the employees of Coldwell Banker Real Estate Corporation and Coldwell Banker affiliated companies are sponsoring and building 100 homes for Habitat for Humanity,” said David Jones, COO of Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston. “This home is part of that national effort. Joyce is a champion for children and the epitome of a loving foster parent. She is a truly deserving recipient of this home.”
