Invengo Announces Contract to Design and Manufacture RFID Labels for Conair/USA ID
Herndon, VA, April 14, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Invengo Technology Corp today announced that it has signed a contract with Conair/USA ID to manufacture RFID inlays and labels for worldwide distribution. Conair Corporation’s wholly owned subsidiary, USA ID developed products using RFID to make supply chains more efficient and secure. Conair Corporation has been using the USA ID products for several years with its own line of products – Conair, Cuisinart, and Waring Pro. These RFID products have been time-tested. Through the use of the USA ID product line, Conair product and supply chain has become more efficient and secure from point of manufacture to the retailers which the company supplies. The RFID inlays and labels will be supplied to the subsidiary of Conair Corporation - USA ID, based in East Windsor, New Jersey.
The current design of the USA ID RFID inlay contains the Impinj Monza 3 chip, but plans and designs are in place for use of Impinj’s latest generation chip, the Monza 4. This inlay was developed by Invengo with outline designs provided by USA ID. The labels will be manufactured at the Invengo HQ in Shenzhen, where they will then be around the world.
USA ID offers RFID inlays and tags for general sale to other suppliers, manufacturers, and retailers worldwide. Along with labels for item level/ unit box, case and pallet, Conair/USA ID and Invengo will be launching tags designed for additional applications, such as apparel/garment tracking.
“Conair has always viewed the use of RFID as a key technology, which is set to bring major cost savings and security benefits to the logistics and inventory tracking processes,” said John Mayorek; President of Conair/USA ID. “It did not take us long to prove the benefits of RFID tagging within our own Conair operations, and to decide to open our own subsidiary focusing on RFID. From there we looked to develop a tag that would fit the performance and price targets required for tagging products that would move across the globe; from the point of manufacture to the retail store point of sale. Although USA ID is more than capable to manufacture its own RFID products, we still felt that it would be prudent to work alongside an established global RFID manufacturer such as Invengo. We were seeking a company that could point to a solid financial record, displayed evidence of strong RFID innovation, could work to very high quality standards, and was able to produce the products to the performance levels and in the quantities that we need and demand. We chose Invengo after extensive research, and now aim to develop a strong alliance with this company.”
“Conair/USA ID is one of the world’s largest product manufacturers and we are proud to be associated with its RFID initiative,” said Heather Wang; Invengo CEO, Western Markets. “This program will enable Invengo and Conair/USA ID to work with manufacturers and suppliers to tag goods at the point of manufacture, before shipping into America and Europe.”
