Nurse Next Door Recognized Among Canada's Best Workplaces of 2010
Home care franchise system named among country's top 75 in Globe and Mail.
Vancouver, Canada, April 15, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Nurse Next Door, Canada’s fastest growing home care franchise system, took another step forward on its journey to becoming a globally admired brand with recognition as one of Canada’s Best Workplaces of 2010. Today, the Great Place to Work Institute and the Globe and Mail published the annual list of the country’s top 75 workplaces and ranked Nurse Next Door among other top employers such as Google Canada, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts and TD Bank Financial Group. Recognition as one of the best workplaces in Canada comes only a few months after Nurse Next Door was ranked as the number one employer in British Columbia by BCBusiness Magazine.
“This is something we’re very proud of as it’s been a part of our vision for a long time,” said Nurse Next Door Co-Founder, Ken Sim. “We’ve worked hard to become BC’s top employer and now with the majority of our expansion coming from other parts of Canada, particularly Ontario, we’re very excited to be recognized nationally.”
With one of its four core values defined as ‘Admire People,’ Nurse Next Door has always put an emphasis on being an employer of choice. A great company culture, open book financials, employee stock options, flexible schedules, and most recently, a Dreams Program focused on helping employees live their personal dreams, have all contributed to the company’s success.
“It’s no secret that we put a tremendous amount of focus and attention into being a top employer,” adds fellow Co-Founder, John DeHart. “This is what enables us to attract the best people. A dedicated and engaged staff means our clients receive the best and most consistent care in the industry. It ensures our clients can remain happy in their own homes as they age.”
The list of “Best Workplaces in Canada” was compiled for the Globe and Mail by the Great Place to Work Institute. The competition process is based combines a survey of employees as well as an analysis of organizational culture.
