Nashville, TN, April 16, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Artist to The Stars, Corey Frizzell will be on hand for taping of the popular Tulsa, OK TV Show, “Making it Happen”, hosted by Victoria Lee, on April 24th. Frizzell will be a guest with his daughter, Lyric Alana Frizzell, who suffers from a rare form of Leukemia but is now celebrating having no presence of Leukemia cells in her blood and bones after a grueling six month course of chemo treatment, administered to her at the Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in Nashville, TN.

At ten months old, on July 28th, 2009 Lyric was diagnosed with an aggressive, rare form of Leukemia and was just hours from losing her life. Not only was it a parent’s worst nightmare to hear the dreaded words “Cancer”, but to soon find out that Lyric is the only documented case in history to have her form of Leukemia was unfathomable. She has endured chemo, deadly infections, months of seclusion from family and friends in a protected, filtrated wing of the hospital for immune suppressed patients and sadly, the loss of loving playmates, she so much enjoyed spending countless hours with during her six month stay at the Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital Myelosuppression Unit.

As the nephew of Country Stars, David & Lefty Frizzell and the son of award winning, Country Gospel Artist, Allen Frizzell, Lyric’s daddy, is proud of his musical heritage, but took a very different path, one not filled with creating music but instead with art and boxing. Although Corey's passion for boxing kept this former Golden Gloves Champion in and out of the ring for a decade, his love for drawing has always been there. Over the years he perfected his craft, starting with cartoons and now creating portraits for the general public. In 2006, Frizzell came full circle when he started creating portraits for Country Music stars like George Jones, Brad Paisley, Alan Jackson, Joe Diffie, Mark Chesnutt and Willie Nelson to name a few. Although Frizzell’s portraits hang on the walls of many legendary Country Music Stars and writers, his works can also be found on display in many public venues like the KY Music Hall of Fame and the world famous Nashville Palace. It looks like Frizzell found his niche, carrying on the family name while blazing a path of his own.

Lyric’s parents, Corey and Crystal lovingly devoted all their time by Lyric’s side at the hospital, rarely even taking a break. Corey relentlessly kept an online journal of Lyric’s fight against this disease, on her website, including hundreds of candid photos and videos throughout the journey. Although Lyric will not be technically declared in remission for five years, the Frizzell’s celebrate having no presence of Leukemia cells in her body at this time and frequent the Vanderbilt Cancer Clinic to monitor her blood counts for the next several years until declared in full remission. Her greatest chance of a relapse will be within the next two years; however, the Frizzell family views her current status as an answer to fervent prayer and will be giving a testimony to God’s healing on the “Making it Happen” TV Show.
