Los Angeles, CA, April 17, 2010 --(PR.com)-- LBG Realty Advisors, LLC is pleased to announce The Final Frontier Seminar, an event that will focus on women as entrepreneurs in commercial real estate. This first of its kind event will be sponsored by the UCLA Ziman Center for Real Estate, Western Real Estate Business, GlobeSt.com, Alllen Matkins, and Canyon Capital Realty Advisors. The seminar has received nearly unanimous support from industry trade groups, including ICSC, NAIOP, BOMA, NMHC, CREW, and WIRE who will be co-presenting the event with LBG Realty Advisors, LLC. The seminar will take place on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at UCLA’s Anderson School in Los Angeles, CA.

We are in a unique time in the history of this country when investors are looking for new talent and are open to new ideas. To meet these challenges, new companies are forming. These companies will be the leaders during the next cycle. Women have made great strides in the commercial real estate world. The natural progression would be for women to join the ranks of the institutional property owners, developers, and owners of support providers. There are opportunities for women to garner the support of the institutional investment community and governmental agencies to start their own companies in the commercial real estate industry in both an ownership and support role. The seminar will provide insight into this world.

Featured speakers for the program are Dr. Darlene Mininni, Ph.D., M.P.H., author of The Emotional Toolkit (St. Martins Press) and former producer and radio host of The Dr. Darlene Mininni Show on KTLK in Los Angeles; and Barbara E. Champoux, Esq., Partner at Crowell & Moring LLP, and past Chair of CREW Network’s Industry Research Committee. Dr. Mininni will discuss the emotional and logical side of making a decision to become an entrepreneur. Why are we here? Is this for you? Dr. Mininni has been called the “Dr. Oz of Emotional Health” because she combines practical advice with cutting-edge science to show her audiences how to live happier, stronger lives. Barbara E. Champoux, Esq. will be presenting the results of the CREW White Paper: Glass Ceiling or Sticky Floor. Barbara has been recognized by the New York Times and Key Professional Media as Super Lawyer in the New York Metro area. She has received NYCREW Network’s Apex Award for her overall contributions to the association, and has been recognized as a Cushman and Wakefield Award Winner for real estate mentoring through her affiliation with the Community Outreach efforts of NYCREW Network.

The seminar will be chaired by Leslie Lundin, Managing Partner of LBG Realty Advisors, LLC, and co-chaired by Sonia Ransom, Partner of Allen Matkins.

Attendees will benefit from the wealth of knowledge shared by the panelists, leaders in their respective fields in the real estate and professional communities. In one session, women entrepreneurs who started their own businesses will discuss their experiences. Why they took the step? What unique challenges they have faced and continue to face? How they overcame these challenges? How they structured and funded their companies? What worked and what would they do differently? In the second session, panelists will discuss the opportunities that exist in the investment community and through government programs for women-owned businesses. Why step up to the plate right now? How to qualify for incentives? What does it take? What is the competition? What are these programs looking for? What is real and what is hype?
