On the Boulevard Helps South Lansing Fight Back

Lansing, MI, April 18, 2010 --(PR.com)-- On the Boulevard Business association is putting on a barbecue on July 10th from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. in Logan Square on MLK Boulevard and will include businesses from all around the local area.

On the Boulevard strives to help the neighborhood tackle its biggest enemy: closing businesses. “The event went so well last time, but this year we are outdoing ourselves,” said Marta Cerna, planner and sponsor of the event. “We hope to help businesses in our city advance and grow in these hard times.”

The event will include a cook-off with different food categories, including chicken and brisket, and monetary prizes. The cook-off will be judged by a Michigan celebrity chef, an esteemed MSU cook and a local politician.

Local non-food vendors, food vendors and non-profits will be attending the event. There will be enjoyable activities such as a mountain climbing wall and face painting. On the Boulevard hopes to promote a more positive image for the down-trodden South Lansing and help the city have more fun.
