John Packer Associates Have Been Awarded the ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System Accreditation

London, United Kingdom, April 18, 2010 --(PR.com)-- John Packer Associates have been awarded the ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System accreditation. This recognition further demonstrates the company’s commitment to sustainable design and management in all aspects of their work. Founder John Packer had an enthusiasm for the environment and as such the company has embraced an eco friendly way of working since its establishment in 1993.
The system has been independently assessed by United Registrar of Systems Ltd and will continue to undergo assessment in order to ensure that the standard is maintained.
Much of the work the company is involved in means that JPA’s designs inherently incorporate environmentally sensitive construction methods, and practices. These include elements such as chilled beams, passive ventilation systems and the use of renewable technologies such as ground source heat pumps.
On a day to day level, JPA where possible use environmentally compliant suppliers, recycle office essentials such as paper, cardboard, ink cartridges and IT equipment and encourage staff to consider the use of water and electricity. The challenge was therefore to demonstrate a year on year improvement on these measures, when the company was very environmentally conscious to start with!

The company is at the forefront of low energy design and now have a dedicated team that provides Sustainability/Building Regulations advice to clients through IES Thermal Modelling technology in house.
JPA work with public and private clients including: VUE Cinemas, Cluttons, many central Government agencies, County Councils, the University of Derby and the national Fire Control Project., and have extensive experience in the Education, Commercial, Healthcare, Historic Buildings, Retail, Leisure and Residential construction sectors.
