The Sensual and the Serene Highlight Passion’s Evidence, Published by Outskirts Press

Port Orange, FL, April 19, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Barbara Fifield announced today the release of her third book, Passion’s Evidence, a collection of her poetry published by Outskirts Press. Fifield’s finely crafted free verse offers the honesty and clarity of an attentive woman’s observations of family, men and nature graced with the keen eye of an artist.

Composed over a period of twenty-five years, Fifield’s free verse ranges from the rich lines of “Picking Strawberries” – blushing rubies of succulent flesh/food for ancient deities – to the quietly dramatic opening of her “Memories in the Orchard” – Through knotted grass, dandelions/gnarled roots, bracken/I enter the apple orchard.

In her poems Fifield explores the panoramic emotions of love -- sometimes satisfied, sometimes unrequited -- and the connections of a woman’s heart to her closest family: her husband, her daughter, her mother-in-law. The poet also conveys with skill and grace the sometimes complex emotions a woman experiences in her relationships with men: You ask me to dance with the wind/but knees are stiff from/too much bending.

Passion’s Evidence is an impressive first collection of poems and offers its readers the real, the actual and the tangible all laced with the shimmering potential within that makes life – and Fifield’s poems -- radiant.

Ms. Fifield has a website, www.fifieldauthor.com, with more information about her fiction and her poetry.
