"The Mystery of the Silver Statue": Just Released by New Start-Up Publisher, Radiant Hen Publishing

The mission of Radiant Hen, LC3 is to publish books for children and adults alike. Radiant Hen was formed by educators and artists already trying to make a difference in schools or other organizations. However, working within these settings often meant arts and philanthropy had to take a back seat to regulations and standards that have little to do with real-world success and happiness. It was time for Radiant Hen to put philanthropy and the arts first and to make a difference in a new way.

Coventry, VT, April 21, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Radiant Hen's newest release, "The Mystery of the Silver Statue", written by Middle School teacher Ray Perkins, takes place in a present day village in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. Two 8th grade students, Jimmy and B.T., stumble upon a long-lost treasure map written by a member of Rogers' Rangers during the French and Indian War. The hunt for the famous Silver Statue, stolen from the Abenaki Indians during a raid by Rogers' Rangers in Odanak, takes the young detectives on exciting adventures, run-ins with criminals, and daring escapes as they try to break the code leading to the buried treasure.

Follow the adventures of young sleuths B.T. and Jimmy as they solve what is actually a real-life mystery of Colonial history. B.T. struggles with a serious disability and learns to appreciate his own strengths through the adventure and thanks to enduring friendships and strong family ties. Beyond being a charming work of fiction, "The Mystery of the Silver Statue" is also a valuable classroom tool for discussion on both Colonial and Vermont History as well as the importance of self worth.

"The Mystery of the Silver Statue" is a fun way to discover colonial history for both kids and adults alike. While rooting for B.T. as he learns to appreciate his own strengths, and applauding Jimmy as he learns to step aside and allow B. T. to fight his own inner battles, readers find themselves tracing the very steps that the Abenaki Indians and Rogers' Rangers walked in 1759.
