Reasons 2 Rhyme Presents the 2nd Annual Freedom Slam
Reasons 2 Rhyme Honors National Poetry Month with Poetry Slam Competition
Greensboro, NC, April 21, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Reasons 2 Rhyme presents the 2nd annual Freedom Slam, a national poetry slam competition, on April 30th at 8p.m. at the Sloan Theatre (GDS). The Freedom Slam will feature 15 poets from across the country competing for a $1,000 cash prize. This event is Free and Open to the public.
The competition will consist of three rounds and the final round will feature the historic Greensboro four sit-in movement. Five judges will judge each poet on stage performance, word play and diction.
In celebration of National Poetry Month, the Freedom Slam is hosting the art of poetry on a national scale to awaken the senses of the city of Greensboro. National Poetry Month is a month long celebration of poetry that increases awareness and appreciation for poetry in the United States.
“The Freedom Slam is one of Reasons 2 Rhyme largest events of the year. This event draws some of the most talented poets from across the nation to compete to showcase their talent in Greensboro,” said Josephus III, creator and host. “Reasons 2 Rhyme recognizes the importance of National Poetry Month and created an event that would celebrate the art form.
