Clarence, NY, April 21, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The Michelle’s Angels Foundation Inc. (MAF) together with the Kynette United Methodist Church today announced its plans to stage the first Michelle’s Angels Foundation “Christian Country Music Hope Concert” benefiting those from in and around Norton, West Virginia who suffer from various physical ailments including cancer. Four Nashville, Tennessee based country music singer-songwriters will be appearing during the two-hour concert at 7 p.m., Wednesday, April 28 at Davis and Elkins College’s Harper-McNeely Auditorium. Tickets for the concert are $10.00 with all proceeds benefiting local suffering West Virginians. Seating is limited. Tickets can be purchased at the Good News Christian Book Store and at Evan’s TV & Appliance, both located in downtown Elkins.
The Master of Ceremonies for the concert will be WDNE 99 radio’s Joe Danger. The opening invocation will be offered by Pastor Walter Ellison of the Kynette United Methodist Church. Sponsors include: James Gately, Davis Health System, Identical Entertainment, Holiday Inn and Enterprise Rent-A-Car.
The Michelle’s Angels Foundation’s “Angel Artists” appearing in Elkins include MAF Music Director Ken Harrell, and Identical Entertainment artists Tonja Rose, Greg Johnson and Rob Harris. “Angel Artists are individual performers or recording artists recognized for the assistance they provide to those who are suffering. They do this through the performance of their music, either on the MAF website jukebox or during “live” performances,” said MAF president and founder, Herb Knoll.
Music Director Ken Harrell offered, “Many of the ill live with their challenges without any support or assistance from others. Together with their need for human services, many need help restoring their faith or embracing hope for brighter days or to simply know that someone cares. MAF Angel Artists accomplish this and more by sharing their musical message of love, hope and assistance among those who suffer.”
In addition to performing at the Davis & Elkins College, the Angel Artists will perform at the bedside of patients at the Davis Memorial Hospital and its Cancer Care Center, as well as performing a lunch time “Calling All Angels Concert” for the hospital employees. Speaking on behalf of the Davis Health System, president and CEO Mark Doak said, “Michelle’s Angels Foundation is an organization that is dedicated to improving the lives of people fighting any one of life’s many challenges including cancer--as well as the lives of the patients’ families.” Doak added, “We are happy to support their activities, which bring new and unique experiences to our patients and employees.”
