Manchester, United Kingdom, April 22, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Country and Town Maintenance has seen its turnover increase during the recession. Despite difficult economic times the company which provides electrical and plumbing services throughout Manchester and Cheshire continues to increase its turnover year on year.
“The number of electrical and plumbing jobs we do each month continues to grow”, said Chris Tomlinson, “But we have seen the size of individual jobs decrease. This time last year we had a waiting list of people wanting to rewire their house and new bathrooms installed, this year we have seen a tremendous increase in dealing with electrical faults, repairing burst pipes and other small electrical and plumbing tasks. People are maintaining their homes rather than developing them.”
This reflects the situation in the construction industry and property sector. Many of the larger companies have had to lay electricians and plumbers off as large development and new build projects have been put on hold. The smaller companies that provide services to owners of existing properties have not been affected as much.
“People will always need the services of an electrician and a plumber as electrical and plumbing repair and maintenance work is a necessity”, said Chris. “We are in the fortunate position of having a strong client base. Over 60% of our work now comes from previous clients. Of the 47 jobs we did last month 32 of them were from past clients.”
In difficult times client loyalty is proving to be the make or break for many companies. This aspect of marketing a business is often overlooked as Chris Tomlinson explains.
"We knew that the bulk of our work came from past domestic and commercial clients. People that we had done large and small electrical and plumbing work for or from property agents who look after apartments all over Manchester and Cheshire and we just took it for granted. Last Christmas we printed a Christmas card and sent it to our past clients. The card cost us about £600 to print and mail, it generated over £1800 of work within ten days. This made us realise the importance of building relationships with clients."
Country & Town Maintenance has been offering electrical and plumbing services for many years and has a strong client base in Altrincham, Cheshire and Manchester. The work is split between commercial electrical and plumbing work and domestic work. All tradespeople are fully trained and qualified. Visit www.ctm.co.uk for further information.
