Cleveland, OH, April 24, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Green Deconstruction Recycles a House in Rocky River, Ohio
Green Deconstruction Services, a Cleveland, Ohio based company specializing in sustainability, deconstruction and landfill diversion, recently completed a whole house project in Rocky River, Ohio where nearly 100% of the home was diverted from a landfill.
This 1930’s built home was slated for complete demolition – the owners wanted to perform the removal as a green project, so Green Deconstruction Services implemented a plan to re-use, re-purpose and re-cycle the entire home.
By performing this project as green, many items found “new homes” throughout Cleveland in projects ranging from remodeling to new construction; repairs to renovation. Also included were community service and organization donations for tax credits. Some of the older lumber is even being used in a manufacturing process making plaques. What could not be effectively re-used, re-purposed or donated in its original form was completely re-cycled; including clean wood shredded into mulch, concrete slabs and footers ground up into aggregate and re-used, glass and metals recycled and much more. Select items were also retained for use in the new home being built on the property. In all, approximately 284 tons of material were diverted from a landfill.
Green Deconstruction Services works with homeowners, contractors, architects, builders, and demolition companies of all types.
Green Deconstruction Services believes in being socially responsible and promoting a sustainable future. For more information on the company or its services, contact 216-561-0303; or visit the website.
