Action Party Supports the Morton Grove Community
Morton Grove, IL, April 27, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Members and friends of the Action Party of Morton Grove, in a show of support for Village activities, have been very busy in the last couple of months. The Party has demonstrated their commitment to the community through financially supporting and participating in special events and volunteering to fill chairmanships.
The Action Party was a financial sponsor of the 23rd Annual Taste of Morton Grove, which took place in March this year. This event is the Morton Grove Foundation’s largest fund-raising activity with the proceeds being contributed to charitable organizations that directly benefit Morton Grove and the surrounding community. A large contingent of Action Party members also supported the Taste by attending and purchasing Raffle Tickets.
The Party was also a financial sponsor of the Morton Grove Park Districts 5k “Run and Fun Walk” event held on Sunday, April 18, 2010. Morton Grove Village Trustee, Maria S. Toth; Morton Grove Action Party President, Mark V. Matz; Secretary, Terri Cousar and Public Relations Chairwoman, Barbara Novick handed out mandarin oranges to racers soon after they crossed the finish line.
Action Party members are going to gain weight in their efforts to help get the soon-to-open Morton Grove Farmers’ Market off to a spectacular start. First came dinner at Kappy’s Restaurant on March 17th followed by dinner at Giordano’s on April 14th. Owners of both of these establishments pledged donations to the Farmer’s Market from sales of meals on specified days. Many Action Party members attended both events to demonstrate the Party’s support of this very worthwhile endeavor.
During Morton Grove Days, this coming July 4th weekend, Action Party members have accepted major roles toward the success of this favorite annual community event of the Village residents. The Parade is under the leadership of Morton Grove Action Party Secretary, Terri Cousar. And raffles are under the supervision of Marlene Worthley and Barbara Novick.
The Action Party is a proud sponsor of many local and community events. Its members are active in many ways, but they all have one thing in common: their love and appreciation of Morton Grove.
