Icon/Vantage Hires New Company President
Los Angeles, CA, April 28, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Icon/Vantage is pleased to announce the hiring of Tony Valenziano as company President. Tony will be working alongside Rob Christie, President of Icon Records, to manage The Icon Music Group endeavors.
Tony Valenziano got his start in the business at an early age listening to records brought home by his father, a then Capitol Records Sales Manager (later to be head of marketing for Capitol). In his late teens, Tony had a band of his own, The Stand, which got signed to A&M Records. They released four records which garnered three top 40 hits and three #1 hits in the college market (CMJ). Tony was the writer and producer on all four releases. He then went on to producing a number of pop acts of the day, including Jacob’s Trouble, Chris Stacey, and Smash.
Tony created Smile Records in 1995, releasing 12 artists before the end of 2002. In 2000, Tony signed a long-term distribution deal with Image Entertainment, one of the leading distributors of videos and DVD’s.
His producing and engineering credits include: Al Martino, Aaron Neville, Nick Heyward, Kathryn Keats, Johnny Angel and The Swingin’ Demons, Russell Scott & His Red Hots, Paul’s Grandfather, The Mornings, The Stand, Tavares, Dianne Cannon, The Ultra Suede, Secret Affair, E.G. Daily, Aguafantastica, Seanna, The Gibson Bros, The Chubbies, and Smash.
