Jeff Tritel Unveils Revolutionary Monumental Sculpture
Grass Valley, CA, April 29, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Bronze sculptor Jeff Tritel unveiled the newest chapter in his revolutionary work on Sunday to a small group of collectors in Grass Valley, Calif. The wax model is a downscaled maquette of one of the boldest undertakings in recent art history, certain to change the way that society perceives not only this sculptor but also the medium for a long time to come.
When completed, the full-sized sculpture will be one of the largest bronze installations ever created. Its sheer size — 200 feet long and 50 feet tall — will make it a destination. Visitors will walk around five monoliths before ascending stairs to “The Eye of the Creator,” where the segments of the sculpture come together in a surprising illusion.
“The Eye of the Creator” depicts both the diversity and the unity of humankind. Large-scale faces that represent many races and nationalities comprise the tree-like bronze monoliths. Visitor will be able to spend hours delighting themselves in these masterful, soulful visages, even as they find less obvious faces among the textures of the bronze. Once they ascend the stairs, they find that the faces and the towers become part of a greater whole.
Jeff Tritel’s sculptures are known for their thoughtful look at the human experience, from creativity to aspiration to love. The sculptor’s genius is in his unique way of melding different perspectives. Depending upon the viewing angle, Tritel’s works can be perceived in very different manners. Looking at a these bronzes, the viewer becomes aware and connected to their challenges, and to all those who share these ideas.
The unveiling of the sculpture at Tritel’s semi-annual studio open studio coincided with his announcement of the opportunity for financial sponsorship or corporate partnership of “The Eye of the Creator.” With a life expectancy of a thousand years, the proposed monument will be the size of Mt. Rushmore. “The Eye of the Creator” could be located at an Olympic venue, World’s Exposition, theme park or other location of the sponsor’s choosing.
