ČEPRO Gives a Sneak Preview Into Upcoming Presentation

Prague, Czech Republic, April 30, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Bioenergy International expo & conference is organised by leading publication Biofuels International magazine, and here Jaroslav Pesek, head of the quality department and strategic reserves at Czech state-run pipeline and storage terminal operator ČEPRO, provides an insight into what he will be speaking about at the event in Prague, Czech Republic, on 5-6 May.
ČEPRO is heavily involved with the storing, handling and dosing of biofuels in the Czech Republic and will give delegates an insight into the challenges involved, as well as its future plans relating to meet local and European biofuel targets.
Pesek believes the government targets are realistic in the Czech Republic, but believes the biggest challenge is the fact that the average age of passenger fleet, which may cause issues with compatibility. Added to this there are very little incentives for companies which offer or blend biofuels.
The government proposal which has been sent to the Czech Parliament suggests a change to the Air Protection Law to increase the biodiesel blend rate to 6.3% e.v (from the current 4.5) and 4.5% e.v in petrol (from the current 3.5%). However many believe these blend levels are likely to increase to just 6% biodiesel and 4.1% for ethanol.
During his presentation Pesek will also explore second generation biofuels, which he believes will develop on a wider scale in the second half of this decade.

The tour will be held at Preol’s state-of-the-art biodiesel plant in the industrial region of Lovosice. The plant, designed by Desmet Ballestra, has the capacity to produce 100,000 tonnes of FAME biodiesel and 10,000 tonnes a year of glycerine. It also has an integrated oil mill capable of processing 400,000 tonnes of rape seed a year and 160,000 tonnes of rapeseed oil, as well as 230,000 tonnes of rape meal.
