Greek Microelectronic Industry (HSIA) Takes Action for Global Competitiveness

Athens, Greece, April 30, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The Greek microelectronic industry takes action to improve its global competitiveness in high value products & services.

Small steps to growth.

Today, the Hellenic Semiconductor Industry Association (HSIA) joins the Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA) to advance the high-tech, export-driven dynamism of the Greek microelectronic industry.

Joining the GSA (www.gsaglobal.org) puts HSIA (www.hellenic-sia.org) in the core of the global industry. This brings Greek industry closer to over 800 GSA members, some of today’s fastest growing companies worldwide. Greek microelectronic companies will benefit from GSA efforts to promote collaboration, integration and innovation within the global semiconductor industry.

Dionisis Kolokotsas, HSIA General Manager, said: “Joining the GSA represents another step of the Greek microelectronic sector toward strengthening its position in the global high tech market. GSA will help us reach more customers around the world and showcase the Greek microelectronics industry as a credible partner. We are committed to delivering innovation with excellence to new customers, as we already do, serving some of the biggest companies around the world.”

In this direction, HSIA recently launched their new website, which has been re-designed to advance their profile within the global marketplace. As Dionisis said: “Our aim is to make our website a point of reference for the semiconductor industry.” The new website provides easily accessible information on HSIA members’ activities to news, events and career opportunities.

The Greek microelectronics industry is an example of how small companies can offer value-added innovation and compete in the global market. In difficult times for the country, HSIA can help the Greek economy become more extravert by promoting exports. “Exports are the driver of growth and HSIA can definitely help, but we need much more support for our activities,” Dionisis concluded.
