Folsom Fitness Expert Val Fujii Proudly Announces Charity Fundraising Event to Raise Funds for American Samoa School
Val Fujii, a Folsom personal trainer and fitness expert, is proud to announce a charity fundraising dinner event to raise funds for rebuilding an American Samoa school in the wake of the 2009 tsunami.
Folsom, CA, April 30, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Val Fujii, a Folsom fitness expert and owner of Fujii Fitness, is proud to announce that he will be holding a charity fundraising dinner event to raise funds in the wake of the devastating tsunami that hit the region of American Samoa in September 2009. All funds raised will go towards rebuilding one of the region’s schools, Taputapu Elementary.
“I have such a strong connection to American Samoa – I grew up there, and I still have family and friends there,” Fujii says. “Much progress has been made in the rebuilding there, but there is still a long way to go. So to give back, I have teamed up with the Pacific Islands Center for Educational Development (PiCED), a non-profit group dedicated to counseling and mentoring students of all levels in the region, with a mission of increasing graduation rates as well as the number of graduates who go on to pursue a college education.”
The charity fundraising event will take place this Saturday, May 1st from 6 p.m. through 10 p.m. with a fun-filled evening that will include dinner, a tennis fashion show, a performance by local band the Benny’s, a clay court tennis exhibition by local tennis pros, a Polynesian floor show, as well as a raffle with many great prizes including a private reserve wine tasting and tour at Renwood Winery, and clay court tennis lessons with pros Mike Smith and Amine Khaldi.
To attend the fundraising event, a donation of $25 is required. If you are unable to attend the dinner but would like to see the band perform, a donation of $10.00 is required after 8 p.m. There are a limited number of spots available and they are filling up quickly, so for more information, or to register for the event, please contact valfujii@gmail.com or noelgiuffre-smith@sbcglobal.net.
