Chicago, IL, April 30, 2010 --(PR.com)-- AnimationInsider.net Interviews Eric Robles; Creator, Fanboy & Chum Chum
This press document is a notification recognizing AnimationInsider.net as interviewing Eric Robles -- the creator and co-executive producer of the Nickelodeon original animated television series Fanboy & Chum Chum. A hearty and ambitious animator with a deep love for all things comics and cartoons, Robles has always enjoyed making people laugh. Now, through Fanboy & Chum Chum, he's taking CG animation to the next level, and with lots of laughs to boot.
Animation news and information group AnimationInsider.net is proud to announce a recently published interview with Eric Robles, whose longtime experience in designing and producing television animation has finally led him to work on his dream project: creating a cartoon simply about kids being kids.
Fanboy & Chum Chum is produced at Nickelodeon Animation Studio (Burbank, CA), co-executive produced by Robles himself, along with Fred Seibert and Steve Tompkins.
The concept for Fanboy & Chum Chum is simple: two wide-eyed kids waddle and venture through their childhood with the aid of comic books, television, action figures, and a whole lot of imagination. Fanboy is the lanky, chatterbox whose brilliant ideas often get on the nerves of his peers, and Chum Chum is the pudgy sidekick whose devotion to slushies and arcades equals that of his pal he so idolizes. Together, the two invent new games to play, pride themselves in their extensive love of all things shiny, have zero shame in wearing their underwear on the outside of their superhero outfits (which they never remove, by the way).
Eric Robles now joins AnimationInsider.net for an extended interview and discussion of his experience in professional animation, and his passion for cartooning overall.Fanboy & Chum Chum is his first series, but has earned stellar ratings during its season one broadcast on Nickelodeon and is currently in production for a second season. The interview is the latest entry into Animation Insider's "The Animated Voice," a catalogue of interviews and in-depth essays on the animation business.
"Fanboy & Chum Chum is a show for the next generation of kids," Robles commented to the animation news and reviews website. "You're supposed to go crazy and have fun and enjoy being a kid. It's just my true belief that I've really got a handle on that."
"That's why I'm really excited to have a show like Fanboy & Chum Chum out there, it's a cartoon that embraces the kid-aspect of life by being silly and being crazy and just enjoying being a kid."
In his interview, Robles shares his experiences growing up as a hyperactive kid under the shadows of arcades and convenience stores; his experience in moving Fanboy & Chum Chum from an initial short video to a full TV series at Nickelodeon; and his overall passion for the animated medium. The computer animated television series airs regularly on Nickelodeon's Saturday morning programming block. Kids will be kids and boys will be boys; and much of the same goes for comic book-adoring animators as well.
