ProTen Services Shortlisted for Environment Award
Property preservation and environmental specialists, ProTen Services were delighted to be shortlisted for a prestigious environmental award.
Bath, United Kingdom, May 01, 2010 --(PR.com)-- ProTen Services’ ADD Waterproofing system was shortlisted in the Innovation Award for Remediation Technology category at the recent Environment and Energy Awards 2010.
Organised by Faversham House, the media group responsible for the Sustainability Live! exhibition, the awards attracted over 300 entries across categories covering key areas in the environment, land, energy and sustainability sectors and showcasing the latest innovations in sustainable business practice.
The glittering black-tie awards ceremony was held at the National Motorcycle Museum and compèred by comedian Alun Cochrane, who has appeared on shows including Have I Got News For You, 8 Out of 10 Cats and Mock The Week.
ProTen’s ADD Waterproofing system was developed to provide combined waterproofing and radon gas control for basement and cellars. Basements are particularly susceptible to containing high levels of radon, the naturally occurring radioactive gas which causes over 2000 lung cancer deaths in the UK each year. With increasing numbers of people turning to these areas to create extra living or working space, ProTen recognised the need for a system that would ensure these areas are safe to occupy.
ProTen Services faced stiff competition in the Innovation Award for Remediation Technology category, and the eventual winners were QROS Ltd for their Hydrocarbon Analyser which has been adopted by the US Navy and Nigerian Oil Spill Agency and used at several high profile sites.
Other winners on the night included Bovis Lend Lease, Tesco and McDonald’s, and ProTen were delighted to be shortlisted amongst such prominent organisations.
