Destination:PEACE Heading into the Heart of Mexico
Mexico Boutique Hotels and Destination:PEACE team together to create an unforgettable Voluntourism experience.
Punta de Mita, Mexico, May 01, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Voluntourism. It’s on everybody’s lips and it should be on everybody’s to-do list. At Destination:PEACE we’ve always wanted to branch out into the different communities throughout Mexico and lend helping hands. What better way to do this then connecting with Mexico Boutique Hotels , a collection of hotels that spans over 25 destinations in Mexico. “This gives us the opportunity to find communities that need extra hands and plan a positive, impactful volunteer vacation,” says Katherine Fisher, Founder of Destination:PEACE.
A great connection took place with Sylvie Laitre, Director of Mexico Boutique Hotels and it’s so exciting to say there is an agreement that has been reached that will take the volunteer vacation experiences beyond the Bay of Banderas and into the heart of Mexico. The very first MBH participating in the voluntourism foray is with the luxurious Casa de Sierra Nevada, located in San Miguel de Allende. CSN, one of Mexico’s most acclaimed hotels has a proven track record of community service, this is essential. What an amazing job they are doing already in the community, from supporting organizations like Feed the Hungry to passing out gift certificates or donations for different cultural festivals.
Mexico Boutique Hotels are small hotels that truly embody the creative spirit and warm hospitality of this remarkable country we call Mexico. In 1999 a brand was built – a brand that cannot be purchased, only earned. That brand became Mexico Boutique Hotels, the go-to spot for outstanding accommodations in Mexico.
Guests joining on a Destination:PEACE Volunteer Vacation will experience another culture while making a difference in the lives of others: children, families, animals and the environment. Each vacation combines volunteerism with the relaxing practice of yoga, spoils you with authentic Mexican cuisine and enables you to participate in cultural or adventure activities. In this case we will be focusing on the cultural aspect as San Miguel de Allende is renowned for its architecture, history and art. A little secret: CSN offers Sazón, an exclusive cooking school so you are sure to indulge all your senses here. Destination:PEACE gives back 14 percent of proceeds to the local charity involved.
