State Funders Show Compassion by Awarding a Grant to Local Artist, Terresa Ford to Market Exhibition

Local Artist Receives Grant to Market Exhibition

Hollywood, FL, November 20, 2006 --(PR.com)-- Local artist, Terresa Ford, has been awarded a $1,000 Artist Enhancement Grant from the state of Florida’s Division of Cultural Affairs. Developed to provide career building opportunities that will advance an artist’s work and career, the Artist Enhancement Grant will be used to develop and launch a marketing campaign for Ford’s Compassion exhibition.

“I am so grateful, receiving this award will make a tremendous difference in the way I am able to market my project” says Ford.

The works in the exhibition depict the commonality of spiritual themes found in Christianity, Islam, and Judaism. The exhibition is slated for installments at The Graham Center Art Gallery at FIU in Miami, Fla (February 2007), the Broward County Library, Gallery 6 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla (April 2007), and Unity Gallery in Buffalo, New York (July-August 2007).

With sponsorship support of local religious and community organizations, Ford hopes to publish a catalogue that documents the exhibition, community response to the works, and literary contributions by local religious scholars.

Ford, a native of Buffalo, New York got her start at the nationally recognized MollyOlga Art School. She has a BFA from SUNY Brockport and an MFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art.
