Kind and Perky Duck Stars in Fluffy’s Very Special Christmas, Published by Outskirts Press
Australian author Stacey Cole’s first book in her “Fluffy” series tells young readers of the generous Christmas spirit of Fluffy, the happiest duck in the world.
Mandurah, Australia, May 01, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The first book in Stacey Cole’s new “Fluffy” series, Fluffy’s Very Special Christmas, published by Outskirts Press, is a full color tale for young readers about the industrious pursuits and generous spirit of Fluffy, the happiest duck in the world. Fluffy’s kind heart becomes the source of the happiest of Christmases for a suddenly very extended family.
Created to be read to young children and to be read by beginning readers, Fluffy’s Very Special Christmas is a cleverly illustrated, full color eight by ten paperback designed to offer a fuller reality than the “See spot run” tales sometimes published for this age group.
Author Cole has developed a fuller text, with more substance than many traditional children’s books, so that young readers can really get to know the characters in the story. Although the story line is more complex, it is written clearly and simply enough that even toddlers will appreciate the more complete reality that is being conveyed to them.
In Fluffy’s Very Special Christmas, Cole shows a respect for her young readers which is too often missing in other “kiddie” books.
The illustrations are also crafted with her young viewers kept carefully in mind. The perspective is primarily from the height of a child and the images of the adults usually end at their shoulders. The focus of the illustrations then stays on the child in the story and on her physically diminutive pals, so that her readers, too, see the story from their own vantage point.
Stacey Cole has a second series of books, as well, based on her dog and named the “Happy” books. More info is available on both series at her website http://www.happystuff.com.au.
Fluffy’s Very Special Christmas is available on-line in paperback through Amazon and Barnes and Noble and at http://www.outskirtspress.com/buybooks for a maximum trade discount in quantities of ten or more.
