San Francisco Family Shares Its Secrets in Savvy New Guidebook to Paris
"Paris, While We’re Young" -- a fresh approach to visiting Paris -- has just been published by an American family who has lived over the past two decades in France and San Francisco. Their advice to friends on how to best enjoy a visit to Paris is now available to everyone through this unique guidebook.
Paris, France, May 03, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Paris, While We’re Young has just been published as a collaborative work by the Ebersole family: Maureen and Doug, Christopher, James and Denia, who have lived over the past two decades in both France and San Francisco. Maureen is a multilingual, lifelong traveler who earned her law degree from UC Berkeley (Boalt Hall), while Doug earned his from Stanford Law School. Both worked as attorneys in San Francisco and the Silicon Valley before retiring to participate more fully in the bicultural life of their three children. They now divide their time between their homes in San Francisco and France.
“We wanted to write something truly useful, not just an update of the old guides that have been out there for years,” says Christopher, who will graduate from Stanford this year as an economics major. “We assume our readers use the Internet, so we give you the best Web sites to find what you need at a reasonable price. We assume money really is an object for our readers, but we don’t just give you the cheapest alternatives out there. We give you the best price-quality ratios, for both an affordable and meaningful experience.”
“Our guidebook leads you through Paris historically, not geographically, so you see the many sights of the City of Light in a coherent story,” adds James, a sophomore history major at Santa Clara University. “The history is presented colloquially---it’s the history everyone is supposed to know, and many pretend to know, but most people don’t really have it clear when faced with the barrage of beautiful architecture, art, museums, monuments and other grand sights that Paris offers. A week in Paris with our guidebook will give you an excellent overview of western civilization, while you benefit from our many suggestions for enjoying the gourmet delights, the chic shopping, and the street life of this wonderful city.”
“Among the five of us, we’ve visited Paris as toddlers, ten-year olds, teenagers, and college students, and as adults. I am living there now for a year with my parents,” 15-year old Denia explains. “One of our goals with Paris, While We’re Young was to demystify the French culture and the language for our readers, so everyone can have a great time in Paris, even those who don’t speak French. People ask us all sorts of things about Paris and France. This is our effort to share our information and some of our best “secrets” with a wide audience.”
Paris, While We’re Young is packed with concrete, practical information collected by a family that wants everyone to enjoy Paris as much as they do. Paris, While We’re Young provides a fresh approach to visiting Paris for travelers of all ages.
Paris, While We’re Young is available at www.pariswwyoung.com or on amazon.com for $23.99.
