Mixed Martial Arts Returns to Chumash Casino

Oxnard, CA, May 05, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Local MMA cage fighters will enter the cage again on Friday June 4th at 7 p.m. at Chumash Casino Resort in Santa Ynez, CA in National Fight Alliance’s second highly anticipated promotion for 2010, following the success and national recognition of its sold out event last March at the Oxnard Performing Arts and Convention Center.

National Fight Alliance will feature the return of NFA Welterweight Champion and Bas Rutten’s EliteMMA in Thousand Oaks, CA standout Jamie "The Ghost" Toney as he defends his coveted title for the second time after capturing the title in October 2009. The event will showcase up-and-coming fighting talent from regional martial arts schools as these athletes build their professional records in front of local fans and gain national exposure.

After a two year absence Chumash Casino Resort welcomes back Mixed Martial Arts, and on the heels of last March's historic event, Rene Carranco, National Fight Alliance organizer, feels encouraged in his goal of establishing MMA as a mainstay sport at the resort.

"In addition to providing excellent entertainment value to our fans," says Carranco, who has been partnering with local businesses and sponsors to organize vendors, an official after party and hotel deals, "we also want to create a vehicle for exposing our local fighter talent to the rest of the country."
