Orbus Exhibit and Display Group, one of North America’s leading trade suppliers of display, exhibit and event solutions, is proud to announce a major expansion with the addition of 150,000 sq. ft. for custom manufacturing. The expansion gives the company a total capacity of 300,000 sq. ft.

“The expansion of our facility allows us to increase our capabilities to produce custom fabric structures, custom construction and extrusion systems,” said Giles Douglas, President and CEO of The Orbus Exhibit and Display Group. “We are making this investment with the belief that the exhibit industry is recovering strongly and we want to maximize that opportunity.”

The expansion brings capabilities that now include the following:
- Full custom carpentry fabrication capability
- Custom welding, bending and fabrication of aluminum for fabric structure construction
- Extensive line of standard fabric structures
- Extensive line of extruded structural systems
- Multiple station CNC capability for aluminum and wood substrates
- Multiple station thermoforming capability in multiple substrates and multiple
finishes
- Multiple station custom sewing capability
- Dedicated team of sewing professionals
- Dedicated project management team with full CAD capability
- Over $1.4 M in rental systems
- Online preview capability in 10,000 sq. ft clear span set up area
- Worldwide service and production capabilities

Graphics capabilities have been enhanced to include:
- A team of dedicated file prep and graphic customer service professionals
- 6 direct-to-fabric and transfer fabric printers with a capacity exceeding 1,500 sq.ft./hour
- 2 direct-to-substrate printers for output on multiple extruded, wood and textured surfaces
- Multiple high speed banner printers with capacity exceeding 1,000 sq. ft./ hour
- 6 high resolution ink jet printers
- Highly competitive turnaround and pricing structure

Since its inception in 2001, Orbus Exhibit and Display Group has grown exponentially from a modest staff of three selling two products to a staff of 175, offering over 300 products and solutions.

History
Orbus was established in April 2001 in a modest facility on South Michigan Avenue. It launched with a staff of three and two primary products. By the spring of 2002 the line expanded to 22 products with a growing need for graphic services. As a result, Orbus merged with Paul Person Graphics, a Chicago based tradeshow inkjet print house. The new and improved business relocated into a facility on the northwest side of Chicago.

By January of 2003, the Orbus graphics department was fully established and providing graphic services that coordinated with a range of over fifty various display products. Orbus later introduced an unbranded catalog with the first edition of The Exhibitors Handbook. With over one hundred products and trade customers in almost every major US city, Orbus had established a solid reputation and foundation. In 2005, with over sixty employees and a continually increasing product range, Orbus made plans for relocation.

March 2006 marked an agreement for a newly constructed facility in Bolingbrook, Illinois. By summer Orbus had been recognized as one of America’s top five market leaders by several trade publications and leading tradeshow authorities. SignPro Systems was launched in November 2007 as Orbus’ first step into the modular signage industry. In 2009, Origin was launched as a provider of full custom solutions. Today with this expansion, Orbus has grown to employ over 175 team members and its product line includes over 300 products.
