GamerShots Makes Screenshots Social, Public Beta Launch Today

GamerShots provides a social user experience allowing members to comment, follow, like, recommend, keyword tag and connect objects on a screenshot to Facebook profiles.

Olympia, WA, May 05, 2010 --(PR.com)-- GamerShots (www.gamershots.com) today launches public beta testing of GamerShots.com a social screenshot sharing, tagging and hosting service for gamers. Utilizing new features recently released by Facebook combined with in-house development; GamerShots provides a social user experience allowing members to comment, follow, like, recommend, keyword tag and connect objects on a screenshot to Facebook profiles.

One of the most exciting features that make GamerShots.com a part of something more significant than itself is the "Screenshot Object Tagging" feature. With the Screenshot Object Tagging feature, a Facebook synced member can drag and drop their self or any of their Facebook friends on top of a screenshot image connecting a persons gaming persona to their real life identity. "The ability for gamers to connect their gaming identity with their real life identity is something I think they would love to do." says Sam Morris founder of GamerShots. The object tagging option is given to each new screenshot upload for Facebook synced users on GamerShots.com and only public information exposed by the Facebook Graph API is tagged to the screenshot.

In addition to the public beta launch of GamerShots.com, GamerShots is releasing an open source desktop Screenshot Capturing application (Windows 7, Vista and XP). The application is a lightweight program that lives in the system tray, out of the way but is still easily accessible. Once installed the program is ready to capture any in-game screen and upload the shot to the user's GamerShots.com account by pressing the "Print Screen" key on the keyboard or by pressing the "Take Screenshot" button within the program.

During the public beta testing phase, GamerShots will solicit user feedback on features and usability which will continue to evolve over time.
