Jackson Lewis LLP Continues Growth in Baltimore
Baltimore, MD, May 06, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Jackson Lewis LLP (www.jacksonlewis.com), one of the country’s largest and fastest growing workplace law firms, announced three additional attorneys, including a prominent partner from Hogan & Hartson, have joined its Baltimore office. This brings the number of employment and labor attorneys in the office to 12, along with five staff members. The Baltimore office opened in January 2010 with a group of nine attorneys and four long-time staffers from DLA Piper.
Gil A. Abramson, of Hogan & Hartson, will join Jackson Lewis as Partner. Donna M. Glover and Charles J. Kresslein join as Associates.
“We could not be more pleased to have Gil, Donna and Chuck join our team in Baltimore,” said Baltimore Managing Partner Richard J. Hafets. “Each possesses specific talents that broaden and deepen the expertise we are able to provide our clients. We know these people well, both personally and by reputation, and we believe their addition - particularly so soon after the opening of the office - will help to solidify our position as a major force in Baltimore’s management-side workplace law practice. Gil Abramson, in particular, has earned nearly every recognition and accolade that an attorney in our field can earn.”
“Jackson Lewis presents the perfect national platform from which I can continue to serve my clients’ needs, and it will allow me to do so at competitive rates. The firm’s resources in the field of workplace law and the degree of collegiality that I have seen were a tremendous influence on my decision,” said Abramson.
Mr. Abramson concentrates his practice on the representation of management in all phases of labor law and equal employment law, including restrictive covenants, wrongful discharge and equal employment opportunity matters, as well as the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Occupational Safety and Health Act, the Employment Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), and the Railway Labor Act and the National Labor Relations Act. Mr. Abramson became a member of Hogan & Hartson’s Baltimore office shortly after it opened and established the labor and employment practice there. Prior to that he helped to manage the labor and employment practice at another large Baltimore firm. He has served as senior counsel to the Chairman of the National Labor Relations Board and is a frequent speaker on a wide range of labor and employment issues.
Ms. Glover began her law career in 2006 after graduating magna cum laude from the University of Baltimore School of Law. Since then she has worked at Venable LLP and, most recently, Thomas & Libowitz, PA in Baltimore where she has concentrated her practice in employment law, representing clients in employment litigation and counseling employers on diverse employment matters, including developing a range of training programs for clients.
Before beginning her law career, Ms. Glover was a successful human resource professional for almost 20 years in positions ranging from manager to vice president in the retail, wholesale, and advertising industries, working with companies employing from 500 to 10,000 employees. She possesses in depth human resources experience in start-up and acquisition environments, as well as union and non-union environments.
In addition to her law degree, Ms. Glover has a master’s degree in Human Resources Management from Johns Hopkins University and a bachelor’s degree in Economics, magna cum laude, from Washington College.
