Cathy Iconis, CPA Donates 5% of Revenue to Help End Cancer
Atlanta, GA, May 06, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Cathy Iconis, CPA will be giving back, starting this May 2010, and will be donating 5% of all revenue to help end cancer in honor of all of her family members that have been affected by cancer. Iconis’s family, like millions others, has been affected by cancer. Her parents, a grandmother, both grandfathers, three uncles, and one aunt have had or is still living with cancer.
Inspired by her mother who has been living with stage IV lung cancer for over two years, Iconis has decided to donate 5% of all future revenue to help end cancer. “I wanted to give my mom and my family a special Mother’s Day gift,” says Iconis. “I wanted to show my dedication to ending this disease, so that my daughter and future generations don’t have to be affected by cancer.”
Iconis, through her business, Cathy Iconis, CPA, will split her 5% donations between the Chronic Disease Fund and the Cancer Research Institute.
The Chronic Disease Fund is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization that helps underinsured patients with chronic disease, cancer or life-altering conditions obtain the expensive medications they need.
The Cancer Research Institute is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that raises funds for cancer immunology research providing direct support to cancer scientists through fellowships, grants and awards.
“It is important that we not only contribute to cancer research but also to organizations that help people get the treatment they need” says Iconis. “That is why I feel it is important to donate to both the Chronic Disease Fund and the Cancer Research Institute.”
