Novosoft Announces an Innovative Cross-Platform Backup and Disaster Recovery Solution
Novosoft, one of the leading providers of backup solutions worldwide, today announced that they are about to introduce a new product extending their flagship product line Handy Backup™ with a cross-platform disaster recovery solution.
Alliance, OH, May 07, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Novosoft, an international IT-consulting and software development company, today announced their plan to release a new disaster recovery solution this month. The program will be an innovative Java-driven software providing an easy way to restore PC system after major failures. The utility is scheduled to be released in the end of May.
"We have developed a disk imaging module for Handy Backup over three years ago," said Alexander Prichalov, head of Novosoft development department. "Though it was a hugely successful initiative, image-based backups created by the program could hardly be used for disaster recovery, as they required you to have a working operating system. The new solution will allow you to create a recovery CD or flash drive, bringing Handy Backup to a new level of usability and accessibility."
A common obstacle faced by most developers of backup and disaster recovery software is that Windows doesn't allow restoring a backup onto a working system. This requires creating a separate utility for Linux or Unix-like operating systems, capable of restoring backups made in Windows.
"We decided to go further than just a simple system recovery tool and developed a standalone Java application that has the same powerful architecture that we have in Windows version of the program," – said Mr. Prichalov. "And as if cross-platform-ability was not enough, we've also integrated an innovative browser-based interface that reconstructs Windows-style folders and is greatly convenient for those users who are unfamiliar with Linux. We are planning to release the program on May 31, 2010."
