Aparc Systems Awarded Street Parking Contract from Sausalito
Picturesque California Community Elects Parking Integration Experts to Give a High-Tech Boost
San Francisco, CA, May 07, 2010 --(PR.com)-- On March 17, 2010, the City Council of Sausalito, Calif. by unanimous consent awarded Aparc Systems Inc. the contract for its Parking Access and Revenue Control System (PARCS) and related parking lot improvements. The contract includes the procurement of 20+ multi-space meters, wireless sensors, pay-by phone application and handheld enforcement devices, making it the most comprehensive contract to date for Aparc Systems in the United States. With its partners, SIEMENS, Streetline Inc., Parkmobile and Motorola, Aparc looks forward to deploying the most advanced parking solution ever seen anywhere in the world.
The waterfront community of Sausalito and its visitors will see the new eye-catching, energy-efficient, and user-friendly SIEMENS multi-space parking Pay-Stations in the ground as early as this summer. But that’s not all, says the Regional General Manager for Aparc, Morris Chubb, “We have worked very hard at making sure that every component of this parking system works together seamlessly. From the pay-stations, to embedded vehicle sensors by Streetline, to Aparc’s TicketManager™ enforcement software powered by Motorola’s portable handheld devices, to Parkmobile’s Pay-by-Phone application, this solution will deliver to the City of Sausalito a parking system that cities across the US will come to recognize as the most comprehensive system available anywhere today.”
Aparc prevailed over other bidders with their solar powered Pay-Stations, embedded vehicle sensor and enforcement solution and will deliver to the City two of its initiatives; keep picturesque Sausalito environmentally sustainable and keep motor vehicle traffic moving. Residents and visitors alike can look forward to a variety of payment options: coin, credit card, smart card, and cell phone payment application. The days of having to run back to the meter to feed it quarters are over! A new day has dawned for the parking industry and it will shine on the small community of Sausalito just across the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco, the City by the Bay.
