The South is Full of Momma's Boys, Suggests CouponCodes4U Survey

New York, NY, May 07, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Research by one of America's leading coupon code websites has found that men from Alabama have to stay in regular contact with their mom more so than any other state across the USA, while only 4% of New Yorkers feel the need to contact their mom often.

The study conducted by CouponCodes4U investigated the attitudes of 7,562 over 25 year old American men with regards to their moms. When asked the question, 'Do you have to speak to your mom regularly?', the study showed that men in the South of America depend more on their mom than any other State. According to the poll, men from Alabama, Tennessee and Louisiana talk to their mom the most.

The Top Ten Mom Loving States, by the percentage that said they had to talk to their Mom on a regular basis are:

Alabama - 72%
Tennessee - 69%
Louisiana - 64%
Georgia - 61%
Utah - 55%
Kansas - 53%
Virginia - 41%
Florida - 27%
Alaska - 24%
Maine - 41%

According to the study, 42% of men from Alabama speak to their Mom every day; while the majority of men from Maine, 38%, like to have a chat every 3-4 days. When asked, 'how do you talk to your mom?' the telephone was the most popular medium with 44% saying this is how they chat. 21% of men talk to their mom face to face, and 12% admitted to primarily using the internet to talk to their Mom.

Of those that use the internet to stay in contact with their mom, 67% use the social networking site Facebook, and 11% use Twitter.

The results also show that 16% of men asked that live in Alabama live at home with their parents and therefore have conversations frequently. In contrast, just 7% of the men polled from Florida lived with their parents.
